AMAZING

The Board of Supervisors actually TURNED DOWN A DEVELOPMENT!

Go to James Burger's very good live blog showing how it all went down.

And for more background you can read my column, which ran on Sunday.

Supervisor Jon McQuiston, the tie breaking vote, said his concerns centered on how the project would, or would not, pass muster under the rules of SB375, which dictates development will be public transit oriented or the county could lose state money.

I've written about SB375 way back in Oct. 2008 and wondered how long it would take until local pols were forced to actually live up to its mandates. Looks like time's up.
