Smart meters MY EYE!

You MUST check The Californian tomorrow for a great story by John Cox about how PG&E's new "smart meter" program is leaving customers smarting, just as I said it would when I wrote several columns about this program some months ago. Check out other problems they've been causing here.

Kern County is ground zero for these things and we've had numerous complaints, from weird overbilling (like double and triple a normal month's billing) to the meters somehow turning appliances off and on inside homes (even burning one man's fans out that he had to replace at great cost).

Through it all PG&E has done what they do best, ignore and deny, ignore and deny.

I suppose I should give them kudos for at least acknowledging they've had the few glitches that John notes in his story. Nah! No kudos for them!

  1. My office is next door to a to an empty building. The land load has the power on but is not use it much. PG&E Turn him off and told him he would have to pay for new start up. PG&E also accessed him of steeling power. I know this is not ture. He has an electrician check his end. This seem to be a smart meter problem. If you don't use enough power. The smart meter shut you down. Scott Hislop
